Chenin Named a James Beard Awards Finalist

We’re proud to celebrate Chenin, the intimate wine bar tucked inside The Siren Hotel, for being named a finalist for "Best New Bar" at the prestigious James Beard Awards.

As the only nominee representing both Michigan and the Great Lakes region in the category, Chenin’s recognition marks a significant moment for Detroit’s vibrant culinary scene and for our community at The Siren Hotel.

Owned and operated by Nick Arone, the 10-seat bar has quickly garnered national acclaim for its thoughtful selection of natural wines and inventive menu. Guests can enjoy everything from grandma-style pizzas and handmade pastas to playful, unexpected ice cream flavors — all crafted with creativity and care.

Chenin’s James Beard recognition follows a wave of accolades, including a No. 6 ranking on the Detroit Free Press’ Top 10 New Restaurants and Dining Experiences list, as well as features in Travel + Leisure and Vogue.

Winners will be announced on June 15 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Presented by the James Beard Foundation, the awards have honored the nation’s most influential culinary professionals since 1990.
